A robust program of service to the community provides each student with an understanding of important life issues and focuses them on the needs of others. Each class has an annual project that involves them in caring for others.
Recent examples include first grade students providing support to a local animal shelter, second grade students sponsoring the basic needs of a young girl in South America and writing letters to shut-ins, and eighth graders organizing a food drive for a local community center. This Fall our students, in conjunction with the Knights of Columbus council, participated in a food drive to benefit a local food pantry in our community.
Immaculate Heart of Mary first-graders organize a coat collection in the fall for those in need. The First Grade collected 118 coats last year!

Immaculate Heart of Mary Girl Scouts were Santa's helpers at the annual Knights of Columbus Senior Luncheon. Local seniors were treated to lunch while the girl scouts sang holiday songs, helped Santa distribute goodies, and handed out ornaments the girls had made by hand.
