Music Program

Music Program at IHM

The music program offered at IHM is run by Partesi Music Services. They were founded in 1985 and are an instrumental music program of choice in over 60 Catholic and Private Schools. The music program is offered to students from 1st through 8th grade with a focus on fundamentals of learning an instrument. Partesi Music Services uses very current and proven methods, including the Alfred Piano Library courses, Mel Bay and Hal Leonard Guitar courses, and Yamaha and Accent on Achievement Methods for band.

The music classes at IHM are conducted by Mr. Steve Sullivan and Mr. Glenn Sullivan. Mr. Steve Sullivan is also the “Diocesan Band” director for the Newark and Paterson diocese. Interested students who qualify may have the opportunity to unite with other students from multiple schools and participate in the “Diocesan Band”.

IHM students have the opportunity to learn piano, guitar, recorder, drums, violin, flute, trumpet, saxophone, clarinet, trombone and xylophone. Students have the option of bringing their own instruments or they are available for rental at nominal cost through Partesi Music Services.

The students have the opportunity to showcase their talents at our annual Christmas and Spring Concerts.
